Working Together,
Not Against
The bookstore world doesn't need more competition. It needs collaboration. Instead of building boundaries between systems, let's create connections. Bookhead exists to bridge the fragmented pieces of your bookstore's tech stack, making your existing tools work better together.
The Connector For Your Bookstore
We're not here to replace the systems you already use and love. We're here to be the missing link that makes them all work together seamlessly. Think of Bookhead as the universal translator for your bookstore's technology. Let your systems talk.
point-of-sale inventory
The Foundation
Your point-of-sale is the heart of your bookstore's operations. Bookhead wants to amplify it by connecting your in-store inventory to every place you sell books online, like Shopify, Squarespace, and Biblio.
IBID
Bookhead automatically turns your IBID inventory into products on your Shopify or Squarespace website.
Booklog
We're working directly with Booklog to provide seamless inventory sync to your online sales channels.
Basil
We've built the integration. Basil supports inventory file exports, and Bookhead is ready to sync your inventory.
Using a different point-of-sale system?
The more bookstores who ask their point-of-sale provider about a Bookhead integration, the faster we can make it happen. Most point-of-sales systems can export inventory data. We are ready for it.
e-commerce platforms
Working Better Together
Bookshop.org & Libro.fm
Bookshop.org and Libro.fm give you access to vast catalogs and spread your reach across the world. Bookhead helps your website be unique by showcasing your store's inventory.
Together, you get the best of both worlds: the broad reach of affiliate programs for books you don't stock, and your curated inventory for books you do. Your customers discover you have that rare book they've been looking for, while also supporting your store through affiliate commissions.
The collaboration:
Let Bookshop.org and Libro.fm handle the millions of titles you don't stock. Use Bookhead to sync your on-hand inventory onto your website. We're planning to support ebooks and audiobooks from these platforms, too.
IndieCommerce
IndieCommerce created something valuable for the bookselling community. We see an opportunity to build on that foundation by making an integration that adds even more value to what IndieCommerce already does well.
We have a way to manage staff picks and book lists in Bookhead so you can manually upload them in bulk to IndieCommerce. We'd love to build a certified Bookhead integration that takes it a step further, giving IndieCommerce users access to third-party plugins like Mailchimp, social media, online marketplaces, and event marketing.
The opportunity:
A Bookhead integration could unlock new tools for IndieCommerce users while still using their platform.
Using IndieCommerce?
Let them know you want a Bookhead integration. The more bookstores that ask, the more likely this collaboration becomes reality.
Why Collaboration?
The bookstore tech landscape is fragmented enough. Every new "versus" comparison just adds to the noise. What if instead of competing, we all focused on making booksellers' lives easier?
Bookhead's vision is simple: connect the systems you already use so they work better together. We're not trying to own your entire tech stack. We're simply trying to be the universal connector that makes all the pieces work together, nicely.
When your point-of-sale talks to your website, when your inventory syncs to multiple marketplaces, when your website connects to your marketing tools, when your existing tools work together...that's where it's at. We can help you stop spending time wrangling technology and start focusing on what you do best: connecting readers with books.
Let's Work Together
If you're using any of these platforms and have interest in more integrations, we want to hear from you. If you work at bookstore technology company and you're curious about collaboration, let's talk.
The future of bookstore technology isn't about one platform to rule them all. It's about all platforms working together to best serve booksellers.
